Stretch Murphy

Meet the founder

Stretch Murphy.

Founder & Lead, Easton Run Club

7x marathoner, Boston qualifier 2,000+ day 5K run streak lululemon Run Ambassador Ohio's first Nike Run Community Coach

Stretch loved running as a kid but stepped away from it for 7–8 years. In April 2020, during the pandemic, he started running a 5K every day and never stopped. That streak became Miles For Justice, still going more than six years later — raising money for charity, placing Little Free Libraries around New York City, and advocating for the wrongly incarcerated. Learn more at milesforjustice.org.

Running alone every day, though, he craved a community to share it with, so building that community was a dream come true. ERC is a free, inclusive run club built for every pace — a place to get fit, have fun, and connect with people chasing their own goals, from first mile to marathon. What started with Nike's backing has outgrown three homes since — proof the community was never about the brand behind it.

Stretch is a seven-time marathon finisher — Boston, Chicago (3x), Los Angeles (2x), and Paris — and a 50K trail ultramarathoner in Colorado. But Easton Run Club isn't about racing each other. It's you vs. you, me vs. me, and along the way, we support one another's goals and cheer each other on to becoming our best selves.

Before you show up

Questions, answered.

Do I need to be fast?

Not even a little. We run supported pace groups from 8:00 to 14:00 min/mile, plus a dedicated walkers group — whatever pace you show up at is the right pace.

Can I bring my dog?

Yes — leashed, friendly dogs are welcome. Just be mindful in tighter crowds at the start.

Can I bring my kids or a stroller?

Absolutely. Families are always welcome — go at whatever pace works for you and your crew.

What if it's raining?

We run rain or shine. Severe weather (lightning, extreme heat/cold) is the only thing that cancels us — check Instagram if conditions look questionable.

Where do I park?

Park free at The Yard — the open lot between Easton Loop and Fenlon Street. See the full Easton parking map for exact directions.

Does it cost anything to join?

No — Easton Run Club is completely free, every week.
